Book club questions
This book is primarily about a disease, Alzheimer’s. Throughout the description of Joan’s sickness, however, Joan’s daughter, the author, also weaves a story of family. Discussions of the book can therefore begin with Alzheimer’s disease, but continue on with a pondering of kindred relations and how individuals celebrate, cope and maneuver together in the world we all share.

Although the beautifully told story of dealing with her mother's Alzheimers is the main theme, this book is about SO MUCH more. The questions the author poses regarding life's complexities are very stimulating reading. She
reminds the reader constantly in the book that her "truths" are a result of her life experiences, and will not necessarily be everyone's version of "truth".
